Currently there are 3 existing teams-U10, U12, U13.  We are looking to expand and create new teams if possible.  Players and coaches are needed.

*Register for tryouts by clicking on the online registration link on the right.  There is no fee for tryouts.

*Players must attend a minimum of 1 session.  Attendance is encouraged at all sessions if possible.

]]> http://www.westendsoccer.net/home/623011.html WESA and EGSA merging into Ewing United Soccer Association 05/03/2012 06:48 AM http://www.westendsoccer.net/home/603489.html On March 8, 2012, the Board of Directors of the West End Soccer Association resolved to merge with the Ewing Girls' Soccer Association to become the Ewing United Soccer Association.  Action by the EGSA Board is expected soon and revisions to this website to reflect the new identity are underway.  Registration options have been changed on this site to include both coed (former West End) and girls-only (former Ewing Girls) youth recreational programs.  Girls Travel and Boys Travel teams will be unaffected except for color changes as new uniforms are required.  As always, board meetings are open to the public on a schedule listed on this website's calendar.

Base fees are slightly changed from last year--they are lower--to bring West End and Ewing Girls registration fees into better alignment.  Fees increase by $15 per player on August 1 because we expect to have teams set up by that date.  Players registered before then may be called to participate in summer weeknight pre-season training sessions.

Volunteering: This non-profit organization is run entirely by volunteers.  We are always looking for parents and friends to help as coaches, with club activities like team pictures, and (in this time of fiscal constraint for the Township) with field maintance.  Parents and guardians may check volunteer options while registering each child.  Adults with no children playing in the program may register as volunteers for free by clicking here.

HIGH SCHOOL PICK-UP

Philosophical

  1. Because we want our young soccer players to have more individual teaching time with the coach! Fewer players on the field will guarantee this! (Need to feel worthy…need to feel important)
  2. Because we want to distance our young soccer players from the external undue pressures of the adult game. (eliminate extrinsic value)
  3. Because we want our young soccer players to enjoy the game for its own sake. (foster intrinsic value)

Educational

  1. Because we want our young soccer players to touch the soccer ball more often and become more skillful with it! (Individual technical

  3. Because we want our young soccer players to make more quality decisions during the game! (Tactical development)

  • Go to www.westendsoccer.com
  • From left side menu select "Team Directory"
  • On next screen Click on "your team name"
  • From your team page in upper right hand corner click on "Team Log-In"
  • Next Enter your email address and PIN (password)
  • You will see Welcome "your name" "Where would you like to start?: Team Scorekeeping  Team Page Maintain Team Contacts  Maintain Team Roster
  • The first time go to "Maintain Team Roster" and enter your players.  Please only use first initial and last name.  Gender is required but DOB and email are not.  Team email list is maintained separate by West End. YOu can also get to roster by going to the team page once you log in as well.
  • Once roster is entered you will be able to record attendance and report scorers (required) and assists (optional).
  • Return to team page by clicking on the team page icon (look like two people) to right of team contact admin at top left of screen or clicking on Team Home link on top right of screen.
  • After your roster is entered the next time you log in you can go to "Team Scorekeeping" to enter game score.
  • Once both team enter score of game and it agrees then you can report the scorers, assists, comments, etc.
  • To report attendance, scorers, assists, etc from the Team Page go down to schedule and between home and away teams heading you will see MR for Match Report.  For your game you will see either "vs" or a score.  Click on which ever is present and it will take you to the Match Report for that game.  
  • Click on Edit "team name" Match Stats/Events"
  • This is where you mark players IN (present) or OUT (Absent)
  • Once both teams scores match.  The next time you go in you will have drop down boxes to report each scorer and assist.
  • You also can indicate Match MVP and Honorable Mention but this is not necessary.
  • There is space for a match recap that you can use to report Goalies and anything else.
